Meet the CDC Team

The Cohousing Development Company was founded in 2001 to help create new cohousing communities.

The CDC team is uniquely qualified to assist with cohousing initiatives. All three partners have lived in intentional communities. We know the joys and struggles of taking a cohousing group from the first spark of interest to a thriving, committed community.

Nick Meima Nick Meima has helped to steer cohousing communities from the early stages of group formation through site acquisition, selecting professionals, marketing, site layout, housing design and obtaining construction financing.

Before joining CDC, Nick excelled in the field of gerontology. Over a 15-year period, he served as CEO for several large-scale retirement communities, where he oversaw major expansions. He also owned and operated a home health care agency for five years.

A passionate proponent of cohousing, Nick and his family have lived in Sunward Cohousing since 1998.

JD Lindeberg J.D. Lindeberg has a distinguished career as a manager and consultant on projects related to recycling and sustainability. In addition to his role as construction manager with CDC, he is a principal in Resource Recycling Systems, Inc. of Ann Arbor.

JD and his family were founding members of Sunward Cohousing.

Bill Kinley Bill Kinley owns Phoenix Contractors, Inc., headquartered in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he has succeeded in general contracting since 1985. Bill is also an accomplished property developer and manager, construction manager, and real estate broker.

Phoenix Contractors has served as general contractor for three cohousing communities, including Touchstone Cohousing.

Bill and his wife live in University Commons, an intentional learning community geared to alumni and former faculty members of the University of Michigan. They also participate in Lakeside, a Chautauqua retreat community in Ohio.

We invite you to Contact Us for more information about our newest community, Touchstone Cohousing.
